The working shelf

Short files for messy days.

Plain text worksheets that turn a vague task into a repeatable check. No email address, no tracking and no software to install.

Four working aids

Take what is useful

Each file is original to this notebook and written to be copied into your own change record.

01

Farm record worksheet

A plain text prompt sheet for recording topology, accounts, URLs, certificates, database boundaries and owners before an incident makes the gaps expensive.

02

Upgrade readiness card

A short preflight list for an upgrade or migration. It covers content copies, rollback evidence, service checks and the questions to settle before a change window.

03

ULS triage card

A disciplined sequence for reading SharePoint logs: define the symptom, choose a time window, follow the correlation identifier and record the evidence.

How to use the shelf

  1. Copy the relevant sheet into the change record or incident ticket.
  2. Replace the prompts with evidence from the actual environment.
  3. Keep the completed copy with the farm record rather than in a personal folder.
